Classic Ether Wallet is a web-based application that acts as gateway for generating Classic Ethereum wallets. The ClassicEtherWallet is free, open-source, and allows users to interact with the Ethereum blockchain easily and securely, without having to install a full Ethereum node. This wallet has been hacked and users reported heavy Ether classic losses.
Ethereum Classic Wallet integrates with external services in order to provide an easy user access to their Ether stored in MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor or other wallets. The vast number of language support is exceptional but users really need to use this in conjunction with another service. This web-based platform is not really a stand alone service.

With this wallet security of your private keys is left entirely to the user. They do not provide any security features. It's really just a gateway to the Ethereum Blockchain. It's completely open source and maintained by Ethereum Classic community enthusiasts. If you are technically savvy you may be able to secure your private keys on your own and use this gateway.

The basic set up seems entirely simple but since the user is completely responsible for security this wallet requires a higher level of expertise. You could use the wallet in its simplest form and it would be easy but not recommended.

Classic Ether Wallet offers great flexibility in terms of integrating it with other Ethereum and Ethereum Classic wallets, but unfortunately it has been the target of a massive domain hi-jack resulting in big fund loss. Although the website ownership has been restored, user's trust with this platform has been severely compromised.
