Jaxx wallet review

Jaxx wallet review

Jaxx
Intuitive Ease of use,  High Privacy,  User Private Keys Stored

Jaxx is best known for its ease of use and the support for multiple crypto currencies. It is ideal for new users looking to invest in multiple crypto currencies. This company has had security issues in the past so it is not ideal for long term or high volume storage. It's a perfect beginners tool.

The primary focus of Jaxx developers is to develop support for as many coins as possible. There are teams working as I write this review adding new coins to the list so this list should by no means be considered complete or up to date. Shapeshift.io takes this to the next level allowing you to trade between the different coins.

Company / organization behind the wallets

Jaxx is owned by Decentralized a Toronto startup who by their own description are, "an innovation hub for disruptive and decentralized technologies". They are very proud to have brought the first 2 way bitcoin ATM to Canada.

Security is not the primary focus of Jaxx developers and it shows. There have been complaints of security breaches in the past and some have not been addressed by the company. Most importantly because your private keys are all stored on your internet connected computer or mobile they are vulnerable to malware. This wallet is not designed for large amounts of funds.

Design is an area where Jaxx really shines. The minimalist black screens are easy to use and fun to look at. Its really a kind of a revolution in the usability of cryptocurrencies. They have a dedicated twitter feed for updates to their software which has the combined effect of keeping users up to date and providing a sense of community.

Summary:

Jaxx is appreciated for its sleek and elegant design and for its support of multiple cryptocurrencies. However, their past security issues may make potential users wary about this wallet, especially those looking to store large amounts of Crypto. It's best to use it for small amounts and transfer your savings to a more secure wallet.
