What happens in the event of a disaster/theft/loss?

The user has a 'root key', 'recovery phrase' or 'word seed' that can be used to regenerate private keys.

This wallet is quite easy to use, but users need to be careful about how they store their private data and must perform backups, which are explained online. Storing large amounts of Dogecoin is possible but because of the hot storage it might not be the best idea, unless the user makes sure that the private keys are truly secured. The design is basic but the program is friendly and uncluttered.

Summary:

Dogecoin Core is a user-friendly wallet that uses the typical fun approach of the Dogecoin community. It has had a good security track record and is permanently maintained by the community as an open-source project. Being a full node wallet, downloading the blockchain does take a long time but it provides more stability and security for users.
